Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh. Expert in bacteriophage-based therapy, genomics, antimicrobial resistance, molecular biology, microbiology, and microbiome research. Completed B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Earned Ph.D. in Medicine (Microbiology) from Miyazaki University, Japan, in 2017. Postdoctoral research at the University of Southern California, USA. Awarded the Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at APC Microbiome Ireland, specializing in bacteriophage-based therapy as an alternative to antibiotics. Completed postdoctoral secondment with Artugen Therapeutics, working in both Ireland and the USA. Currently leads the PhageBiome Research Group at the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Department, SUST, since September 2020.
